Wow, this is bad scheduling! I am hoping Sid plays in Quebec City though. He loves playing in Quebec.
(This is Josh Yohe answering a question on DK sports today about the Pens Preseason games.)
lmblumAJ1: I’ve noticed the Pens play three preseason games in three days. I know that three days in three games is not uncommon in the minor leagues, and being exhibitions they allow Mike Johnston to rest players that normally would play, but was there a certain reason for compacting the schedule like this?
JY: I’m glad you asked. What a bizarre situation facing the Penguins in less than two weeks. As preseason schedules go, the Penguins have two very glamorous games on their schedule. One is in Quebec City, the other in Johnstown. I can assure you many of the Penguins are very excited about playing in these venues.
So, naturally, they’ve been scheduled on consecutive nights. It’s beyond idiotic scheduling (that the Penguins had no control of) and it puts Sidney Crosby in a very rough spot. For the first time in his NHL career, Crosby has a chance to play a game in Quebec City. He grew up a Canadiens fan and played his junior hockey in Quebec. Playing in the new building in Quebec would surely be an extraordinary thrill for him. It would be a thrill for the fans there, too.
Of course, how often do the Penguins play in Johnstown? Crosby no doubt will want to play there too, and I’m sure the fans there would be horribly disappointed if he were to skip that game.
Well, he’s not playing in both. There is no way he will play on consecutive nights in the exhibition season. And understandably so. It’s a tough situation and people will be unfairly upset with him no matter what he decides.
Oh, and the next night is a home preseason game for the Penguins, which means the home fans will be paying a lot of money to see him play. Yikes.

Is anyone else starting to feel a conspiracy of lurkers from press/pr?
From being quoted in the Nova Scotia paper over the summer to Dangle calling Phil potato. Now the pens are commenting on the size of Sid's smile. How many times have we all commented on the genuineness of Sid's smile?
The watchers are everywhere!
