In the article I posted here earlier today Rossi says this: "Rossi: Crosby was himself, but he is different post-concussion. Hockey remains his passion, but it has not seemed like his obsession for a while. He seems to be in a better place as a person. Heck, my relationship with him has been salvaged, and that probably doesn’t happen if the old, hyper-obsessive Crosby is still around. He sees life now, not just hockey. That has nothing to do with the locker-room culture. It’s just him growing and maybe gaining some perspective having had to live without hockey during the post-concussion syndrome." Just wondering what he meant by their salvaged relationship. Did they have some kind of falling out pre-concussion? |

Yeah Snarky, I think they did, Rossi used to write a lot of BS about Sid when he was concussed.

There was fallout from the summer of Sid's concussion. Especially one particular radio interview Rossi did with Mark Madden. The show was yanked from the podcasts and you can't find it anymore. I believe the team had it pulled. I heard it live and Rossi was talking a bunch of BS about Sid, his dad, etc. Rossi is a tool and I think Sid had enough of him. But apparently the bridges have been mended.

I don't remember the specifics. Both Madden and Rossi were angry at Sid for not communicating with anyone about what was going on (I think Madden was upset that Sid hadn't come on his show that summer). Rossi said that Sid hadn't talked to anyone in the Pens organization and that they were furious at him. That he was isolating himself so much that eventually it was just going to be he and his dad asking for a huge contract that the Pens couldn't afford. I think there was something about the Conn Smythe award as well (something about how Sid's "people" thought he deserved it). Crap like that. Just really petty stuff.
I wonder what Rossi has to say now with Sid signing such a generous contract (more so than Rossi's BFF Geno).

That was the rumor that Rossi was moved off the beat because Crosby didn't want him there (or the Pens were so annoyed with him). But he has wormed his way back into the organization. Barf! I like Yohe way more. |

I have to say that here in Boston both Rossi and Maddan are disliked, especially Maddan. When the Pens were playing the B's it was often spoken of how poorly the Pens were represented by their own press. Maddan in particular was accused of just saying completely inappropriate stuff. As for Rossi, I know people on this site have disliked him for a long time and that quote supports what an a** he is. As if Sid's immaturity or obsessiveness was the reason they didn't get along and now he doesn't care so much about hockey so whatever. I still wouldn't talk to the jerk if I was Sid. I have to say Sports Writers couldn't get away with slamming athletes like that here. Sorry for rambling, had trouble posting and am a little frustrated.  |

Cherie, I honestly don´t know how Rossi still writes for the Trib about the Pens, and since he didn´t manage to get to kiss Sid´s ass, he moved to Geno´s instead, but did you see the mess he put Geno in around the time he was coming back from Russia cause´ the lockout had ended? Geno was furious!

The russia media got from Rossi´s Twitter that Geno was happy being back in Pittsburgh, he made it sound like Geno was relieved leaving Russia. And Geno got pissed and attacked the russian media, that´s when they told Geno the info was from a pittsburgh reporter who just happened to be Rossi.

Interesting I never really liked him but I always think Sid hasn't really forgiven him for all that he said during Sid's hard times and the whole we r cool is all for the fans and everyone reading plus Sid is to nice to put him in the spot thus he just stays normal
