Sasky you should start a poll! Or maybe there's too many players I agree with Crawford - has he ever earned it. Eberle is gold in international play and i think i'd add him on that alone. I dunno about Jordan - so many options at that position its going to be tough. CBC had a special that used to be on youtube but now gone that was almost a documentary and went over the whole process of selecting the team - all behind the scenes with Babcock. It was awesome to see things like how Doughty almost didnt make it. It'll be interesting to see who gets on.

So many players are in the mix just because Team Canada is always so stacked. I think the shoo-ins would be Crosby, Toews, Stamkos, Tavares, Bergeron, Nash Getzlaf, E. Staal, Eberle and (regrettably) Giroux in the forward category. At D, the obvious choices are Doughty, Weber, Seabrook, Keith and Letang. Price comes to mind as a possible go-to goalie.
No clue how the line combos could look, Sid hasn't played internationally since the last Olympics whereas many of these guys have played in the World Championship tournament and have had an opportunity to play with one another in different line combinations. But honestly, Sid will gel with whomever he ends up playing with because he's just that good.

I'd like to see Crawford at the camp! Since Yzerman was in the attendance at game 5 (I think it was game 5, not sure, though), it wouldn't be too surprising to see Crawford there.

The insurance thing is the most ridiculous shit I've heard. They didn't have this problem in 1997, 2001, 2005, or 2009 but they do in 2013? Team USA has already confirmed no one will be skating. How the hell do you match lines up and see how players react to each other? What kind of insurance are we talking about for Sochi if they can't even casually suit up in the first place? (http://www.cbc.ca/sports/hockey/nhl/story/2013/07/19/sp-olympics-canada-insurance-issues-hockey-camp-sochi-crosby-yzerman.html). Actually, it was an issue in 2009, as the NHL as a rule doesn't provide insurance for players who play in the Olympics. www.tsn.ca/mlb/story/?id=286897It was also an issue in 2005, not just for the Olympics but international competitions as well. sports.espn.go.com/nhl/columns/story?id=1912251

Since the forwards are such a high-scoring group, do you think they'll pay much attention to some of the defensemen that are known for scoring or shy away from that? I think Green would be a good fit for the squad (as long as he could actually stay healthy) but he's a great offensive-defensemen so I'm not sure if that would hurt him with this group.
