I'm sorry but no. Her station closed. She hadn't found a job and decided to move to be with him because she could. Do not make her into something she's not. And she's not "afraid of running out of time". She did not give things up for him. Things happened and she's making the best out of it.
Sorry but Anna is a great person and does not deserve any shade thrown her way.

Agreed with all of the above. A big part of the article I posed is asking her about the station that took over for Russia 2 (for whom she used to work). She's in Pittsburgh because her career threw her a curveball and she's rolling with it, not because she gave up everything to be a housewife. That doesn't seem like who she is at all.
As for the stupid pregnancy rumors, her Halloween costume should have put all of that to rest haha You just can't rock a tight leather cop outfit in your second trimester and look like that haha

Exactly. Things happened, she didn't want to work for the station that took over hers, Sergei got a tryout, Plotnikov and his wife were coming over. Things just made sense for her to at least see how things would work with them together instead of continents apart.
Sorry, I really like and respect her. She's extremely supportive of Geno and believe me, if you had a chance to see her in the stands, she's not like the other WAGs. She goes crazy when he scores and she watches the game intently. At the Consol she's hard to miss. And she's at every game. Most other WAGs don't go to all games. Period.
So until Anna proves otherwise, and she won't, she has Vero status with me.

Long distance relationships are so hard. I think sometimes you're looking for a sign to tell you what the right thing to do and having tv station you work at go under could be considered one! lol.
I love she can find a way to work in Pitt if she decides to stay because it seems like its important to her. I love her and them together - plus how epic would that wedding be?

I don’t think there is anything wrong with wondering if Anna feels like now is the time to start think about starting a family. I imagine it’s something lots of women around her age start to think about if they know having a family is something they really want. I don’t think that’s an absurd opinion at all. She has clearly made the choice to prioritize her personal life right now rather than her career. She moved to a country where her work options are extremely limited (in her field of work) to be with her boyfriend, rather than look for new career options. That’s a clear choice to put her relationship ahead of her career for the time being. It’s not the choice I would make (I travel to Germany for work every other month. Talk about putting the breaks on your personal life) but there is nothing wrong with it. At some point in our lives we are all faced with making that choice to one degree or another. Arguing that that is not what she is doing makes it seem like there is something wrong with doing that, when there isn't.

There's no way she can't be thinking about it with Geno saying in articles that he wants kids - he totally put it out there lol. To me it sounds like she's spending the season in the US to see if she likes it and would consider it a permanent move. Who knows what'll happen - none of us are privy to what they're relationship is. I for one am rooting for them but i also hope she finds a way to be able to work as well because it sounds like its important to her and why not do both if you can.

I am probably the only one LM. I like both of them individually but I don’t like them together. It bothers me that Anna said several times that Geno doesn’t value her career or think that it’s important.
I often think about if the situation were reversed and Anna didn’t support his career or think it was important, what would people say? I’m sure people would be telling him to ditch her.
I read above someone saying that it was so great to see how she supports him at all the games and really cheers for him. I can’t help but think it would be nice if he did the same for her.
I’ve also heard people say that it’s a cultural thing. Which to some extent I can understand (I split my time between 2 continents and there are definitely huge cultural differences) but ultimately, for me, what it comes down to is (regardless of sex, or background) that if you love someone you support and value the things that they do.

I think we all look at these relationships in the context of our own lives and what we've been through. I know i do. Like I took that quote with a grain of salt because my parent's first language isn't english and i know that sometimes when something is translated it's not the same as what you had said originally. You also can't tell tone at all from an article. But mainly i think that people make choices and that if she chose to leave her career opportunities and family then i'm sure she thought it was worth it. I'm in a long distance relationship and i know that sometimes someone can be supportive but still what you to move cross country to be with them. It sucks that as women we are usually the ones that are asked to make that sacrifice. As smart as she is I can't see her choosing to be with him if he wasn't supportive of her. That's just my two cents. |

Oh, I totally don’t trust google translate or other things like that. Going by that can get you in trouble (I once tried to write a card to my then boyfriend using it. It didn’t go well. LOL)
I had my friend’s mom (who is native to Russia) translate.
There is always the chance it could be a lost in translation thing. I tend to lean toward no though just because the same thing has come up in at least 3 interviews (that I’ve read) from her.
On a side note. I was excited to watch the game tonight, but I can hardly keep my eyes open right now and there is still hours to go. I don’t think I’m going to make it.

Actually I wonder how Geno land someone like her? Kidding kidding. Geno is bomb and he went after what he wants. Read the article how he stalks her and got her phone through mutual friends. It was funny. I'm glad he's happy and was able to convinced her to move to USA with him. It's hard to be in two country in a relationship.
