Roger Goodell is a piece of shit. The Ravens organizational members are all pieces of shit. The justice system in Atlantic City is a piece of shit. And Ray Rice is a fucking sorry excuse for a human. I am a huge "violence against women" activist. Rape culture, chauvinism, discrimination, and all forms of abuse make me see red. So when I first heard of the "Ray Rice Situation", I was enraged that a pro athlete could do something like this. Then I was enraged with the enabling. The first part of the video came out and something should have been done then. But no, the Ravens, the AC justice system, Goodell, and others covered it up. So much that TMZ had to become the white hat. I got into an argument over TMZ sticking with the story when no one else cared. And why they watermarked the video. Few reasons. 1. They stuck with the story and uncovered a lot more. 2. Other news sources just shrugged and dropped it when the charges were dropped. 3. Why shouldn't they water mark it when they are the ones who dug it up. 4. They have all the proof of a coverup. 5. It's sad that it took seeing him knock her out for everyone to be enraged. As a victim and survivor of abuse, rape, and discrimination, I am so angry. It makes me think back to a wonderful little situation we all saw in October of last year in Denver. I kinda want TMZ to dig a little deeper there. Keith Olberman went off on his show. deadspin.com/keith-olbermann-on-roger-goodell-an-enabler-of-men-wh-1632150757

My only thing is that why the outrage now? This has been going on in the NFL for DECADES! In fact, there are NFL hall of famers who have long histories of domestic abuse (see Jim Brown).
And the reality is that it won't bring down the NFL. NFL players have committed far worst acts yet fans didn't stop buying season tickets or stop watching the Super Bowl.

I think because it's so viewable in the age of technology. And women's rights are a big deal now. In the 70s to even the 90s things were much different. With younger generations being raised to speak up more I think it helps. Feminism is strong now. It's not a counter-culture anymore, is a part of mainstream culture.
One of the Ravens players after they beat my Steelers last night was quoted for saying the win was for Rice because "he's still a good guy"....the fuck? If a man or woman thinks there are times when a woman will provoke a man to hit them, they need to never date a woman and the females need to see what real love is. And Chris Rock tweeted "let's get this straight. Ray Rice wasn't fired for beating his wife. He was fired because a video of him beating his wife was released." And it's the truth. The fact the NFL knew of the tapes existence and chose to turn a blind eye to it with the "if I didn't see it, then it doesn't exist" is ludicrous. Goodell needs to be fired and there needs to be league wild sensitivity training. Honestly, it should be nationwide. It's not ok. It never was, but people used to have a lot more privacy to be abusive assholes. Big brother is everywhere!
